Exploring Brand Guides (Skype)

It feels like Skypes primary focus in their guide is to list out all the various advantages people will gain from using their site. They breakdown everything from their logo to their typeface and similar topics.

The guide is very cartoony at first. Its only two people talking back and forth for about 10 pages before the guide gets into the actual information on the article. It maintains a cartoon like aspect thoughout the entire guide, using characters or little thought bubbles to portray random thoughts.

It states that in order to use the logo, you must leave enough room between the ampersand and the &, and the logo must always be in the far right corner.

"Skype is a piece of software that allows people around the world to talk to each other for free."

I like the way the guide is set up as a whole, it diverts from the boring and rather serious guides and keeps the reader fairly interested and invested. It maintains an upbeat style that doesnt really clutter the reader and helps them read through the document without feeling bored. I want to keep my guide similar to Skype's by keeping everything short, sweet, and eye-pleasing to look at.
