Rule of thirds - Helps with the aesthetic of the scene and looks better than a simple direct placement. The 180-degree rule - helps the viewer stay focused; I think it personally adds a bit more tension in a weird but rather chaotic way. Interview tips - doing homework just makes sense and feels kind of rude if you don't. Don't wing your questions, and no "yes or no" questions are pretty obvious. An interview is between two people so looking at the camera feels weird.
